When George Jetson lets Astro out of their sky-high-tower-house so that he
can "do his business", does it just fall through the air randomly?

Are the drivers of passing air-cars warned away with "falling poop" signs, or
do they just have to take their chances that they'll swerve in time?

Do the pedestrians below need umbrellas?

Are the pigeons impressed and/or jealous?

Or is there a specific area at one side of the building where all the dogs
go, with a roped-off "landing site" far, far below? Are there targets
painted down there? Do the owners place bets on their dog's accuracy and
range?

I've searched the Web and Usenet for answers to these questions, but the best
I can find is from my own SF Library, in Orson Scott Card's book "Treason".
But that's very little help since it's *fiction*.

There was probably a pneumatic tube like the elvators to catch any falling debris But the truth is, before Ren and Stimpy, cartoon dogs didn't poop. They did a lot of tree hugging and fireplug chasing, but thats about it.

Pedestrians? When have you ever seen anyone in The Jetsons walk on solid ground? It's always some elevated walkway or something. The way I figure it, all the buildings in The Jetsons are built on stilts because there is not much of a solid landmass anymore, not after the polar caps melted.

They suffer not only from stray Astro-poop, but from any and all debris cast off by the "Great ones in the clouds" as folks like the Jetsons are commonly called. The surface folk have no electricity or running water, and the children play with falling excrement, which is much safer than rummaging through the toxic waste. They attempted an uprising, but it was quelled by Freder (the son of Jon Frederson) in the great tower of "Metropol....... OOOPS. Got my stories confused sorry.
