Subject: Captain Infinity's review of "No Compromises" From: Captain Infinity Newsgroups: rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5,alt.fan.tom-servo Date: 1998/01/22 Message-ID: <34d09938.22958093@nntp.netcruiser> I watched the opening credits, going "Huh?" The last credit make me gag, it was such a blatant ego trip. The "A" story was transparent. The "B" story was boring. It's a sad statement when the *best* part of the show is a moment of absolute silence. The show was wretched. It felt like a pilot, and a bad pilot at that. Implausible plot devices, bad acting, scientific inaccuracies...one on top of the other, piling higher and deeper. If I were new to the program I probably would have changed the channel before the end of the first half hour. Thank goodness the incredible "Signs and Portents" had been on earlier, or I would have clicked B5 off for good. I have faith that JMS is just in a slump, still dealing with the aftereffects of the suit-induced Season 4 arc-cram. The end credits were ruined by TNT. The price they are exacting for supporting the show is damaging the selfsame show. TNT's ad at the end, with its own "special effect", was an insult. TNT may be giving JMS free reign in producing the show as he sees fit, but they clearly aren't allowing him to have any say in how they promote it...or how they use it to promote themselves. To sum up: an hour of my life was wasted. It could have been better spent washing my socks. ** Captain Infinity ...please include "Infinity is a moron" in the header of all flame email, so it will be correctly filtered to my "answer immediately" folder.
